EMS education fund discussion will be June 23 at 11:30.  Anyone interested in hearing about the fund, how to donate and how to receive these funds please attend.  Let the Shalom office know if you would like childcare provided.  The meeting should be no more than 30 minutes.

Highland Retreat’s annual Steak BBQ and summer staff commissioning service will be held at Highland on Saturday, June 22, with activities starting at 1:30pm and going all afternoon.  Cornhole and many other activities will be open.  The BBQ begins at 5:00 with live bluegrass.  Highland will provide main dishes; please bring a salad or dessert and donation to support Highland Retreat.  To reserve a campsite or A-frame cottage for the weekend, contact the office at (540) 852-3226 or .

The VMRC Auxiliary reports that this year the auxiliary made a final payment of $8,000 on the $68,000 bus. The auxiliary also gave $12,000 to the Good Samaritan Fund. That amount can help one resident on Medicaid with six months of expenses. Thanks to all who contributed through membership funds and/or attended a fund-raising event. Thanks also to volunteers, whose work is another significant contribution to the lives of residents at VMRC.
